Studio 11 for Independent Designers
Introducing Studio 11—a community for independent designers who want to do better work, build meaningful relationships, and feel less alone in the creative process.
Working independently gives designers a lot of freedom, but it can also create distance. You make decisions on your own, manage your own projects, find your own clients, and often have no one nearby to talk to when you feel stuck. There is no colleague to review an early idea, no creative director to challenge your thinking, and no team to celebrate the small wins with.
Studio 11 was created to fill that gap.
It is a focused, thoughtful community for independent designers, freelancers, illustrators, art directors, product designers, creative students, and anyone building a creative practice of their own.
At Studio 11, members can share work in progress, ask for feedback, discuss creative challenges, find collaborators, and learn from people at different stages of their careers. The goal is not to create another noisy online space where people post polished work and move on. The goal is to create a place where designers can be honest about the process behind the work.
That might mean sharing an unfinished identity concept, asking for advice on a difficult client, reviewing a portfolio before applying for a role, discussing how to price a project, or looking for someone with a complementary skill set.
The most useful conversations often happen before the work is finished. Studio 11 gives members the space to have those conversations.
The community will include regular critique sessions where designers can present their work, explain the problem they are trying to solve, and receive constructive feedback from their peers. These sessions are designed to help members think more clearly, see new possibilities, and make stronger creative decisions.
There will also be portfolio reviews, live conversations with experienced designers, workshops about the business of independent work, creative challenges, accountability groups, and informal opportunities to meet other members.
We will talk about the full reality of a creative career—not just the final images.
That includes:
Finding and managing clients
Pricing creative work
Writing better proposals
Handling feedback
Protecting your time
Building a strong portfolio
Developing a personal point of view
Finding collaborators
Staying motivated between projects
Starting and finishing personal work
Growing a sustainable independent practice
Studio 11 is built on the belief that creative growth does not happen in isolation. It comes from sharing ideas, receiving thoughtful criticism, seeing how other people approach problems, and having a community that encourages you to keep going.
The community is open to designers at different stages. You might be a student trying to understand the industry, a freelancer building your first client base, an experienced designer starting a new practice, or a creative professional looking for fresh perspectives and stronger connections.
You do not need a famous portfolio, a large following, or a long list of impressive clients to belong here. You simply need to care about the work, stay curious, and be willing to contribute to the growth of others.
Studio 11 is not about competition. It is about creating a generous environment where people can share knowledge, support one another, and improve together.
The name comes from the idea of a shared studio: a room where different people work on different things, but still learn from one another. Everyone brings their own discipline, experience, taste, and perspective. Together, those differences make the community stronger.
Our central belief is simple:
Better work happens together.
Studio 11 is for the designer who wants honest feedback without unnecessary noise. It is for the freelancer who wants more connection. It is for the creative who has a personal project they keep postponing. It is for anyone who wants to build a more thoughtful, sustainable, and rewarding creative practice.
Welcome to Studio 11.
